FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Yes, but not until I have diagosed the problem. I understand most people don't know what is wrong with their door. All they know is "It won't open" or "It won't close". It can be difficult to give an accurate estimate with such ambiguous information. That is why I generally include my phone number with my initial message. The 'Thumbtack Price Estimator' won't allow me to give a price range. I would much prefer to talk to someone in order to provide a more precise estimate.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I would prefer to talk to the customer either over the phone or face to face. In order to accurately determine what is wrong with the door and what it will take to repair, I generally have a number of questions that I like to ask. Trying to communicate via email or text message is often vague and cumbersome. My prices aren't set in stone and I am more likely to bid a job higher until I fully understand what work needs to be done. That is so much easier to do with a phone call rather than sending emails and text messages.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
my parents ran a construction company growing up so I have always had a job in this sort of field. When I moved to Denver, I was offered a job repairing garage doors. The rest, they say, is history.
