Chef Julien was personable and truly listened to my vision of my dinner party. On the day of the event he was intensely prepared, dynamic. Watching him in the kitchen was like witnessing a master musician. The classic cassoulet he created for my high profile guests was delicious. The lemon tart finished off the night in classic french style. And I can't even go into the cheese. So much appreciate this chef's culinary talent and professionalism. The next time I entertain a CEO at my home to cement a big business deal, he'll be my first call.

Hired on Thumbtack

Julien knocked it out of the park for our family birthday celebration. He was incredibly communicative in the lead up to the event, and produced a first draft of a menu within an hour of posting on Thumbtack. We had a quick call shortly after our first few messages back and forth, and from that call, he revised the menu, and we were a go. I thought we were going to provide our own dessert, but the night before, I realized it had not been taken care of. I called Julien to see if he could make something happen, he said not to worry, and the chocolate cake he put together the day of was unbelievably delicious. We had appetizers, a salad course, a soup course, an entree, and dessert, and every bite was better than the last. Our family is gregarious as can be, and not only was the food delicious, but Julien was engaging in conversation with the whole crew, and was an absolute delightful addition to our family celebration. One last thing. My folks were having a dinner party the night after the birthday dinner, and about an hour into the event, my Dad decided he didn't want to do all the work, and asked Julien if he could do their event the following day for twice as many people. This is a big ask. A lot of the cookery that Julien does takes multiple days of prep. But Julien politely set expectations with regard to the menu, and accepted the challenge and put together another incredible meal with less than 1 day notice. Julien is a true pro, and an absolute delight. Can't wait to hire him again!
