FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I prefer hour lessons to truly set up an individualized approach to each student and form the most successful lesson plan. I charge a flat rate of $1 per minute, so if you want a 30 minute lesson-$30 etc..I encourage lessons on a regular basis to keep the student motivated and practicing, however I do not require it. Many of my adult students come every other week, some once a month. The younger the student, the more I encourage a regular lesson time. Consistency gets results.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to have an initial phone conversation to set up goals for the future and get a feel for how to start our first lesson. Share a little bit about each other and set up some parameters for what is required. The first lesson won't be rushed, and often can go longer than an hour If time allows.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have been teaching privately for over 20 years in different music stores, schools of music and out of my home studio. I currently am employed at University of Colorado as an adjunct instructor where I teach 1 on 1 lessons, classes and coach ensembles. I have a Bachelors of Music from the University of North Texas where I was a scholarship recipient all 4 years.
