*Preface: I don't like to leave negative reviews (if it's searchable, you can find some GLOWING Thumbtack reviews from me), but had no choice in the matter here. I'm absolutely not some nut looking for revenge or competitor trying to cut down another business; just a newer homeowner that's now a little more jaded about contractors after trying to hire these guys. Scott Fitzgerald gets a star for great communication and information early on, but he left us high and dry when installation day came so I can't speak of workmanship. This was a smallish new sod/new fence/minor landscaping job, but Scott visited our place and gave us excellent attention, feedback, and respect as if we were a major project. He was patient and accommodating when negotiating items in the contract, especially with all of our inexperienced questions! But after the contract was signed and install day came, his crew was a no show-no call. After numerous calls, texts, and emails over the next month without a single response, I had to give up and start looking for someone else. I was initially very comfortable to work with Scott, so it was even more disappointing when we were totally blown off. It also delayed getting our nice new backyard while I was giving him the benefit of the doubt and waiting to hear back, when I should have just hired someone else the next day. Ignoring a good client (there was NO instance of disagreement/disrespect/argument/etc. between us while we were working out the project details) with no explanation is incredibly unprofessional, disrespectful, and immature. Scott made such a total 180 from his early professionalism that I even thought he had maybe been severely injured before our install, had a major death in the family, or some other personal disaster that would leave him out of communication for a while. Even still, after 5 and a half weeks he or someone would have reached out to his clients. We hadn't even given him any deposit yet, so it's not like he was robbing us. He just disappeared. The whole process left an awful taste in my mouth, and if I could go back I never would have tried to hire Fitzgerald Landscaping in the first place.

All pricing is outlined upon review of the work needed. We do this to ensure 100% accuracy and no surprise costs.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The initial phase is to introduce my company to the client and have him / her understand what we can service them. Then we meet and go over a service proposal. If both parties agree then we move forward with a signed contract outlining the work to be done, payment terms. We then provide a certificate of insurance to the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have several years of hand on experience in the lawn maintenance industry. From shadowing my fathers landscape business as a youth to building my own business today - experience has led to what we are today!
