LaJuan has been my vocal coach once per week for about 2 months. At the age of 47 I never dreamed that someone could help me find my voice! She is extremely professional and patient. Her energy and passion for singing and performing is absolutely contagious! I love her philosophies on performing and methods for developing you own "unique vocal style." This is exactly what I've been looking for. So quickly she has helped me to develop the confidence that I could actually sing and perform in front of an audience! I use her vocal exercises and practice daily which has made all the difference in my singing. I couldn't have progressed this way without her! My main instrument is piano, but I wanted to strengthen my voice for live performances and recording - especially pitching original songs. LaJuan helped me with pitch, breathing, understanding mic technique - and mostly with feeling more relaxed and confident about my own singing skills.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

You should determine in advance if NJ/NY tolls and mileage work into your budget :-)** CURRENT RATES: 30 minutes - $40 45 minutes - $50 60 minutes - $60 If offer in-studio coaching as well if you're working on a recording project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Recommended lessons are once per week, with the first lesson being an assessment of your vocal range, strengths/challenges and personal and/or professional goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
After a 25+ year career as a professional singer/songwriter, I decided to teach privately about 2 years ago. I was also the music teacher for a private children's day school for approximately 10 years. Additional experience includes being a teacher for a New York City based "personal development" firm that taught confidence and "professional preparedness" to various schools, corporations and private clients. Lastly, I've studied with some of New York's most well-respected vocal coaches.
