I have had a total body massage with John before which was excellent. This time I booked a massage for back, neck and shoulders and also specifically for a pain that I've been experiencing under one shoulder blade. John did an outstanding job of assessing and working on that particular area as well as excellent therapeutic and soothing work on my back, neck and shoulders. His massage room is quiet, clean and comfortable and the soothing music was a great addition. I will certainly continue using him as a bodyworker.

    Q & A

    • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I charge $80/hour and $110 for 90 minutes. For out calls, I add $5 to help with gas and tolls.
    • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask several questions: Have they had professional massage in the past? Do they have a history of injury or surgery? Are there any health issue I should know about? Are there any ares to avoid? (face, belly, feet, glutes) For women, if they say yes to the glutes, I always ask if they prefer that I work through the sheet or without the sheet when working on that region. A top sheet is always used. What type of massage do they prefer? What type of pressure to they tend to like?
    • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Service Through Touch - 1988, SF CA Body Electric - 1988 in Swedish, Jin Shin Do acupressure, and Shiatsu. San Francisco School of Massge - 2014, 500 hour program. Since then I've added roughly 150 hours, in Deep Tissue training, Trigger Point Work, Advanced Neck work, and Dynamic Stretching and Joint Mobilization. Education is an ongoing process and I pan to continue.
