FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee for personal chef is $300 plus the cost of food which includes up to 4 entrees, sides and desserts serving between 4 and 8 people. My fee for cooking classes is $100 plus the cost of food for a 1 hour class, $150 for a one-and-a-half-hour class and $175 for a two-hour class.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We will meet to discuss your dietary needs and any allergies or restrictions. We'll select your first menu and set a cook date. Then I will take care of the planning, shopping, cooking, storing with heating instructions and completely clean up. The only thing you'll notice when you come home is the smell of delicious food and a stocked refrigerator or freezer. As a cooking instructor we will discuss your preferences and desires. Then I will plan the class, create distributed materials, arrive early to prep, teach and clean up from the class.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Having grown up in an international home eating and learning to cook foods from around the world, I have developed a passion for global cuisine, spices, flavors and textures. As a certified personal chef I combine my joy of cooking with the goals of healthy every-day eating and using fresh local ingredients. I have cooked for York PA's "Farm to City" Dinner, Healthy World Café, Leg Up Farmers Market and through cooking classes throughout the region. I also believe in the power of community and organize the York County Food Alliance's "Squash Hunger" and am head chef for Leg Up Farm's "Farm en Blanc."
