FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Every move price is determined by distance and the inventory/items to be moved. Moves that are less than 150 miles are usually priced by the hour... while moves greater than 150 miles are priced with a flat rate or by the amount of space the items need on the truck. We rarely have more than one customer's load on our truck so we typically price with a flat rate which is determined by the inventory. All of our prices are guaranteed and our customers NEVER have to worry about surprise price increases or hidden fees.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, we like to learn a little about the customer's reason for moving: new job, bought a house, retiring, need a change, want to be closer to family, etc. This helps us understand a person's individual needs and builds a connection. Then we determine what is going to be moved and how much time it will take. If a customer has flexible moving dates we do our best to schedule the move at a date and time to minimize the price. We understand hiring us is just one of the many costs of moving. After the job is scheduled with a deposit to secure the day, we will periodically check in with the customer to confirm the details of the move. We ask for any inventory changes, find out if additional services or materials are required and make note of any changes to the original agreement. If a customer's changes require a change in price, we always let them know in advance to avoid any surprises. On the day of the move, the customer will receive status updates from both LMS reps and the drivers so they know the exact time of arrival. Our communication is what makes working with LMS better and easier than any other company.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Both owners have experience in sales, operations and dispatching for a national carrier. There they learned a lot of what makes a moving company successful and that there was a lot that could be improved to ensure each customer had a positive experience. Every mover and foreman has at least 3 years of professional moving experience. Most of our guys have worked nationally and are happy to stay close to home.
