I am absolutely thrilled with the work TM Home Improvements did on my Thumbtack project! The main project I bid for was skylight repair. This skylight repair project has plagued us for 4 or 5 years, where we have suffered with water leakage and visible water stains on the drywall under the skylight. What's more, we've already had it (unsuccessfully) repaired a few years ago. Once we hired TM Home Improvements, it quickly became clear we just hired the wrong people. Tom knows what he's doing. First of all, let's start with the initial bid on Thumbtack and the communication aspect - perfect. I got a response in a matter of hours, and used the messaging function on Thumbtack to schedule an evaluation of the project. The next phase - where it often goes wrong in my experience working with contractors and repair technicians - was the planning and scheduling and the showing up part. No issues there at all. He (Tom) came out at my scheduling request (and a bit of a drive for him, I may add), was on time, personable, knowledgeable, and followed up quickly on his bid. I was very happy with the reasonable price for the bid. But much more importantly, Tom's approach to resolving my issue was to thoroughly evaluate it and bid out for what TRULY needs to be done to resolve it. Not just slap a tube of sealer - which has already been done - but to actually remove it, inpsect all of the skylight components, and fix whatever is likely causing the leak(s). Right there I was sold on likely hiring this company once I saw the bid, and the bid was great, as I mentioned, quite reasonable. So then we move to the next phase, scheduling and actually DOING the work. Well, this was a home run. Tom scheduled the work by purchasing materials literally the day after I agreed to have him do the work and then initiating the installation the day after that, and completing the work the following day. He found the source of the water damage, repaired it, even exceeded what he needed to do by ensuring both the plain and the layer of tinted glass were tightly sealed togeher, replaced flashing with a better seal, and even painted over the stains on the ceiling/texture directly under the skylight! Not only is the skylight water leakage resolved, but we don't have to stare at the visible reminder of the damage that has been haunting us for 5 years! On top of that, he fixed another issue that's been plaguing us for years - a very drafty north-facing back door with an air gap between the door and the frame you could drive a truck through. Same day he fixed the skylight, he also repaired this door - and this included purchasing the necessary materials. Totally awesonme job on the door as well, and a load off our minds as we head into winter. We used to stuff things in the gap in the colder months, as our food would quickly get cold on our dining room table. That will no longer be an issue thanks to Tom and TM Home Improvements. We are so happy with this company that we're going to have him return to do some additional projects - replacing rotted deck stairs, staining the deck, repairing wood rot. This has been an outstanding experience with TM Home Improvements - the responsiveness, the communication, the customer service, the VERY high quality of work, and the great price. You just can't do any better. And the Thumback experience has been equally great. I love the ease of attaching pictures, scheduling, messaging, finding pros, it's all been top notch.

Tom did an excellent job on the stone for our fireplace. He was courteous and professional, communicating every step of the way from timing to work specific steps. He was detail oriented and the end project demonstrates his commitment to the finer aspects of the work. Would use Tom again for other projects and highly recommend to others.
