I first used Dub's 2 years ago at the urging of several Facebook friends when my A/C went out in July. At the time, I was caring for my elderly and disabled mother in the home, so it was urgent. JW was there within an hour, diagnosed the problem, and repaired the capacitor with minimal cost. I was most impressed by his honesty and expertise in explaining the problem and solving it so quickly. I also saved his number in my phone for future emergencies knowing I wouldn't want to use anyone else. Last month, I moved to another city and leased out my home. The very LAST thing I was expecting was for the A/C to go out on the day my renters signed the lease. Of course, I called Dub's first. It was a Saturday and we agreed he could come look at it Monday. Meanwhile, I did a very stupid thing. In my panic, I agreed to have a friend's A/C guy come look at it first. The other guy informed me I had a freon leak, so he fixed that and added back freon. He also told me that since the unit was 15 years old, I should plan to replace it this winter or by spring at latest and that it would be around $3000. Believing it was fixed and relieved to have some time before total replacement, I was happy to pay him $300 and let my renters move in. WRONG! One week after move-in, it stopped cooling again for renters who prefer to keep it on 68. Frantic that I'd now have to replace it, I called Dub's again in a desperate hope he might have a different opinion. He met me there in 30 minutes and got to work. The first thing he did was check the inside and remove an extremely dirty filter and some debris that the other guy never even bothered with. He explained how moving would cause this even though filter was changed 2 months ago. Next, he went to work outside cleaning the coil and components the other guy failed to do. When he was finished, he brought me outside to explain the readings on guage, how the cleaning impacted the air flow, and that the current reading should mean it's finally working efficiently. He also told me that while he and other A/C guys make way more money from replacements than service calls, mine might make it another 15 years before that's necessary. Trust is everything to me, and JW's honesty is rivaled only by his expertise. I might as well have set fire to 3 hundred dollar bills when I paid the other guy for total incompetence and dishonesty. LESSON LEARNED!!! For $147, my renters are now thrilled, a replacement crisis was averted, and I will NEVER allow anyone else to work on my A/C except Dub's. If you're reading this because you're not sure who to trust with your problem, call JW now and rest assured you have the absolute best in the business.
