About this pro
I hired Trey's company(Trey) for Saturday and Sunday to install skirting around a new trailer. Trey told me that he would be there at 8:00 am the morning on Saturday. Trey texted me at 7:59 am that he had another job and could I wait until 10:00am for hime to show up. 10:30 comes around and no Trey, he asks me to reschedule for another date. This puts me in one hell of a bind, I can't hire someone else for Saturday. I then have to hire street workers because I am on a deadline. Trey is not someone you can trust and he has no common courtesy. He sure screwed me. Do not hire this guy if you need him to be there when you want him to be or at all.Aug 6, 2018Verified
Trey was very knowledgeable and did an amazing job installing a mailbox post and anti-top oven bracket. Will definitely hire him again. Thanks Trey!Jul 11, 2018Verified
Delivered on the project after weeks of stalling, then didn’t execute the project as discussed and planned. Poor construction, and unfinished. Didn’t secure the existing fence knowing we have dogs that use this yard. We had to resecure everything. Nice guy just seems inexperienced and over-sold his abilities. We would never recommend him for a job.Mar 18, 2018Verified
Trey at S&B did a FANTASTIC job! He removed my old swing style gate and built a 24' electronic sliding gate on my rear driveway. He was punctual, professional, and reliable and made sure I was 100% satisfied before finishing the job. The sliding gate works great and I'd definitely recommend Trey to all my friends and family. His rate was definitely affordable and a great value compared to the big companies. 100% HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!Jun 28, 2017Verified
I set up an appointment to meet with Trey for a decent one-day welding project. After missing our meeting time, he finally showed up late and I showed him the scope of the project, including working drawings, plans and all necessary materials. He gave me a fair estimate, but I offered him a 20% increase/bonus above his quote to have the project performed the next day, a Saturday. He told me he was sure he could do it, but he'd check his schedule and let me know in 30 minutes. This was at 1:00 PM. After leaving him several text messages I finally got in touch him at 10:30 PM that night, 11 hours later. Late on Friday night, he said he would be there the next morning, so I had my helpers dive in to all the preparations for his arrival. This was a lot of demo work that once started could not be undone. Once we tore down the old gate...the new one HAD to go up, same day. Well, you guessed it, Trey did not show up. I gave him an hour before texting him. When I did he said " I'm heading there" so we kept working. Almost an hour later he sent another text "My truck just blew up...I'm sitting on the side of the road waiting for AAA". I offered any help I could, including picking him up and dropping him off later. All my texts went unanswered. I pleaded for 30 seconds of his time to update me but I never heard another word from Trey, ever. Trey knew it was critical to build this new gate the same day the old one went down. He knew he'd have all the help he needed from me. He knew I was committed to making everything work out, including driving him wherever he needed to go before and after, and he knew I had offered him a 20% Bonus. He still never contacted me with any more updates. I would NEVER hire Trey, and I would not advise anyone else to hire him either. He has never called to apologize for leaving us hanging, to offer an explanation, or to see if we still needed his services. I also believe he lied to me about his truck "breaking down". I feel strongly that he simply did not care about the trouble caused by him refusing to communicate useful information to his customer. In my opinion, he is not a professional...not even close. ***********UPDATE******* This vendor replied to my review right away...how surprising! He still never apologized, said he was sorry or once admitted he could have handled any of this differently. He claimed I never showed any concern for him or responded to his texts. Finally he blamed me for not contacting him again...instead of him contacting me, like a professional would. Attached is a screen capture of the relevant text string showing everything that transpired. You can make up your own mind.Jun 5, 2018Verified

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?I try to work with the budget my customers have in mind. Sometimes it’s just not feasible to do so. My normal wood fence rate for material and installation is between $16-$24 a foot. Cedar cost more and 8 foot tall fences cost more as well. My steel fences range from $20-$30 a foot depending on design. I do hourly rates for repair. I also offer senior citizen discounts and active/reserved/retired/vets Military discounts.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?Establish a trustworthy relationship. I want to meet the customer and discuss what they want. I want to look at every aspect of the job so I don't miss anything. Be on time and make sure that the customer know they are important.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?I started welding when I was young and the rest just sort of happen over time. I was exposed to many different trades over the years and have a very good ability to retain information.
