Introduction: Helping clients find what makes their home their ideal retreat. Each family has different needs, wishes and desires and I help each customer find what works best for them. I came for an art background and my work is rooted in color, design, space and comfort. I have been doing design work in the Boston area for nearly twenty years and developed relationships with suppliers that are not available to the public at large. One would think with internet access, you could find everything at your fingertips, but it is just not so. I have a deep wealth of knowledge about products, resources, artisans and craftspeople, and the experience to put it together.

Kris has an impeccable sense of design with expertise in paint, wallpaper, and textile selections. Her workroom is fabulous. In addition to helping me with paint, wallpaper and textiles for my Charlestown home, she custom designed all of my window treatments and bedding. We're now working together on the next phase of my house project: art selection.

I wanted advice on space layout and what kind of furniture to buy for an apartment I moved in to. Kris was very prompt in contacting me. She was easy to talk to, and offered lots of great ideas - things I never would have thought of, but were great for the apartment! She was very creative in helping me see how the space might look - even using my few suitcases from my recent move to help me envision what the space would look like. At the end, she even helped me move my furniture a bit to try out different arrangements! Overall very sweet, creative, had wonderful simple ideas for my budget, and easy to work with!

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fee is $120 per hour for design services. My knowledge of available goods is quite extensive and current which allows me to be efficient in sourcing goods for my clients. I also have developed direct acquisitions channels through the years permitting me to source quality home furnishings at extremely competitive pricing for my clients. Bespoke goods are expensive and not always readily available to the public -even with the reach of the internet.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically we meet and discuss the scope of the project and make a plan for next the steps needed to accomplish the client's wishes. That's when the fun starts!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to Massachusetts College of Art and Design and have a BFA in painting. My color and design skills are directly related to my art school background.
