FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
We seek to provide service that is significantly above that which is offered from the mass service model offered by firms such as H&R Block and Jackson Hewitt. We know from experience that these firms charge fees that are typically 20% - 40% above our fees and the people preparing the returns typically have limited tax training (some have less than six weeks of training). Our firm has an average of 17 years of tax preparation experience and all accountants have at a minimum of B.S. in Accountancy from a four-year college.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We believe the initial meeting is the most important point in creating a harmonious, long-term relationship. We schedule a one-hour on-boarding session where we learn our clients needs and expectations. We provide feedback based on this input and then we level-set expectation to confirm that we are both on the same page. Consistent communication and client service that is second to none is the foundation of our success with our clients.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am an Illinois licensed CPA with 31 years of tax, accounting, and consulting experience. I received my B.S. in Accountancy from DePaul University in 1992. I then sat for and passed (on my first attempt) the Uniform CPA Examination as administered by the American Institute of CPA's (AICPA) in May 1993 [less than 30% pass all four parts on the first attempt]. After receiving my B.S. in Accountancy and passing the CPA exam, I pursued (and received) a Master's degree in taxation from DePaul University. I am an expert in assisting corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, sole proprietorships, and individuals in all facets of accounting, tax, business planning, financial planning, and business strategy development and execution. As a licensed CPA, I am required to obtain a minimum of 120 hours of continuing professional education every three years. I traditionally surpass this total annually as I am a huge proponent of constant improvement.
