FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
The suppliers pay my commissions, not the customer. You get a customized trip and all of my great service pre and post booking for free!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
It depends how much research the customer has already done. Some already know down to the resort and room category they want, or the exact cruise and sailing they want. Some don't even have a solid decision yet on a destination! I will ask them questions to help them decide and guide them to the destination and type of trip that is right. Everything can be done over email and phone. I have clients all over the country. Once we have that initial consultation, depending on the complexity of the trip, you could have quotes in your inbox in as little as a day, or as much as a week. Booking is done over the phone. Documents are sent electronically. And you're on your way!
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've taken full advantage of destination and supplier training offered in my field. No formal education is required to be an agent, but I spend time each month in strategic learning. I'm a specialist now with a few tour operators and cruise lines, and I've traveled extensively myself. My clients are always challenging me to learn new things, so I learn something new with almost each trip I book.
