FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My compensation is based on the project that you need me for. We will discuss the project up front and price out the project based on what YOUR needs are. This includes travel to a site within 35 miles from Fremont, CA. If I need to go beyond we can certainly discuss this. My typical session will include a 1-2 hour session (FREE) to get acquainted and define the project. At the end of this session we would each walk away with a fair understanding of what we will be doing for one another and I will provide you an up front estimate of how long we will need to spend on the photo location. After the photo session is complete, I will deliver you 10 digital images (More based on our definition of the scope of the project). Anything beyond the 10 digital prints that are included in the base package will be charged based on our agreement (as a general rule of thumb each digital copy beyond the 10 included in the base package will be priced at $20/copy). The typical session will be about 2-3 hours. If you need prints I can deliver prints up to 19x13" on Canon Professional paper @ $10/print. All digital copy will be delivered in full resolution and can in compressed jpg format. If you need any other format (e.g. tif, psd etc.) we can discuss the delivery for no extra cost. Copyright to all photos will be transferred to you and a copy will be retained for a maximum of 1 year from the day of the photo shoot. After this time all digital copy will be destroyed.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I will meet you for a very informal session at a location based on your preference. We define what we would want to achieve and then set up a time such that we can get acquainted with all parties that will be at the photo shoot. I would really like to know each one and especially if there are young kids involved, I would like to make them comfortable and ensure that I can get them in their best mood. We define location, dress scheme, any other details that we will need to ensure for the final photo shoot. On the day of the actual photo shoot, I prefer either early morning and/or late evening light and we will decide our schedule based on your preference. I can use the flash, but I prefer not to use it if at all possible.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been photographing for the last 30 years. However, I have now started my business and want to expand on it. My nature and landscape photos have been published in several books and in Nature Conservancy. As far as portraiture, I have spent the last 10 years photographing people mainly for satiating my hobby and to create gifts for my friends. Photography is an avocation for me, it's not my vocation. I enjoy catching the right moments and would like to record some precious moments for you to preserve.
