Introduction: I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate. I love helping my clients learn to communicate more effectively and genuinely in all of their relationships. I specialize in marriage and family therapy and address relational dynamics. I work alongside individuals, families, and couples. I have worked side-by-side with parents, individuals, couples, adolescents, and children as I explore with them possible solutions that they haven't tried before. I believe creativity in critical thinking surrounding these issues clients deal with can create novel solutions.

Rachel works as an independent family therapist and is amazing at family and individual interactions. She is able to build amazing relationships with the clients from the very start. She is caring and concerned about her clients and it shows in her counseling. She has many tools at her disposal (such as theories, games, and activities) and brings them into therapy for the benefit of her client's self discovery. I would recommend Rachel to anyone looking for therapy for any reason.

FAQs

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer a free 30-minute face-to-face consultation in office with you. I want to hear what has brought you into counseling, and what you hope to achieve in working with me. After that, we schedule an intake which is a 50 minutes session in which I collect your past history, your hopes for the future, and I explain how counseling works. We will then sign some paperwork, and we can begin meeting regularly.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

My BS was earned at Stephen F. Austin State University in Child and Family Development. I attended Texas Women's University next, earning a MS in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have attended workshops covering adolescent issues, eating disorders, working with individuals with deafness, and marriage.
