JR does wonderful work. He cleaned my ponds and installed additional filters. He beautified the rocks surrounding the pond as well as created a fish-friendly space in which the fish can hide while looking GREAT through the new clean water. Highly recommend JR. His prices are really low considering the quality of his work and compared to all others I have tried. He is very nice and treats the wildlife (fish and frog) gently. He is the real deal. Use this company for your pond and water feature needs!!!

We’re still working with JR to sort out our water feature issues, but throughout the entire process he has been wonderful! He is so knowledgeable and very responsive. We now have an action plan in place to correct the issues. I look forward to working with JP Lawn and Ponds for many years to come when it comes to pond maintenance and repair. You never really know what to expect when you hire someone from one of these websites. I've had some good experiences and some horrible experiences. My experience with JR from JP Lawns and Ponds was one of the BEST. First of all, he's extremely friendly and pleasant. We had set up a date for him to come to clean my backyard fountain and we had to switch the day because of the rainy weather. We set up another appointment and he kept me posted about his arrival time and he showed up when he said he would. His response time to messages is also excellent. I wish I had taken before pictures of the fountain. It was truly disgusting. I moved into this house 7 months ago and had no idea how to care for a fountain so it was very neglected. JR spent a little over 2 hours working on it. He drained it, power washed it, and gave it a thorough cleaning. It looks great now and it's working perfectly! He also gave me advice on how to care for it. Also, the fee he charged was very reasonable. I will definitely hire him to drain the fountain before the winter. Do not hesitate to hire JR for your fountain and pond needs.

Excellent service; discussed job through Thumbtack and offered several options to take care of my green water problem. Installed UV filter and cleaned out the pond taking care of the fish. Provided advise for pond maintenance. Followed-up after the job to make sure everything was ok. Pond looking better than ever!

This is my Five Star review Patrick Dyer of JP Lawns and Ponds. Patrick is a painstakingly experienced professional. He brings discipline and organization to his work, and always checks on his own work, before he leaves. He communicates easily and clearly with the customer. If the customer is interested in the care and maintenance of the pond, Patrick imparts his knowledge and takes care to provide detailed instructions. If a problem arises, he does not attempt to conceal it, rather he shows you has occurred and what must be done. Patrick is flawless about responding to calls and requests and calling ahead of time to inform the customer of his Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA). He always takes care to answer questions and follow-through on requests. He is a great teacher, in that he likes to answer questions or explain how something works by showing, rather than telling. Everything Patrick does is built around his commitment to deliver a product that provides value to the customer. You cannot appreciate the comfort and security this provides, until you spend two or three years working with Pond companies that have no concept of providing value to their customers. Thumbtack features a rich choice of companies that provide you with little or no value at astronomical prices . Companies servicing ponds must cover an enormous geographical area in Virginia, DC and Maryland. The regional governments' lack of enlightened Transportation policies and every-jurisdiction-for-itself Transportation mgmt chains us to unpredictable travel times. However, Patrick is disciplined to stay in communication -- phone, text, and e-mail -- with customers, which is all we can ask.

My pricing is competitive. I also offer discounts on recurring work that involves monthly services.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Generally when I arrive to do a service for the 1st time, I explain the entire process of the job before I get started just in case there are any concerns. If all is well then i complete the task. payment is needed upon completion of work.
