My name is Lisa Higginson, and I am a MC Resident Therapist at Gilbert Counselors. I have completed my MS in Professional and Christian Counseling at Grand Canyon University. I have a B.A. in Psychology with a minor in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. I have worked in several roles serving Arizona’s families and children since 2008. I am advancing my knowledge in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Mindfulness. Since starting my practicum I have worked with children, adolescents, young adults, adults, geriatrics, couples and families. - What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?My counseling fees are $65 an session. I do not take insurance at this time.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I prefer to have a brief phone conversation with clients prior to meeting them. This allows me to begin getting to know who I am going to be working with. During the conversation I will ask for your availability, email address, and brief description regarding why you are seeking services.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have a B.A. in Psychology, with a minor in Family and Human Development from Arizona State University. I have completed my M.S. in Professional and Christian Counseling at Grand Canyon University. I have worked with children and families for nine years in the social work field.
