Long Distance Moving
Jacob was phenomenal. My roommate and I moved to NJ from IL and had previously had a terrible experience with movers so we were a bit anxious on the day of the move. Jacob showed up right on time and brought all of the necessary equipment and went right to work. He disassembled furniture on request and was careful with all fragile pieces. Once we arrived in NJ, he again showed up exactly on time. Everything arrived in perfect condition and he reassembled everything for us once it was brought inside the apartment. In addition, his prices are extremely reasonable. Nice guy too. If you have the chance, use him. You won't be disappointed.Oct 5, 2018Verified
Long Distance Moving
Despite stating in the project plan a specific loading time and verifying morning availability before attempting to schedule, they said they did not have such availability. This miscommunication shows a lack of attention to detail. Edit for the accuracy of facts stated: My project plan on Thumbtack stated 10am from the outset (I am moving across state). I sent a Thumbtack message confirming Monday Morning availability. They confirmed availability for Monday and was asked to text the phone number to be put on the schedule. I texted asking for morning of March 25th. Reply was that they are available the afternoon at 1pm and offered to check with other workers' morning availability. I stated I would prefer the check. They replied stating starting at 7am, done no later than 10:30am. I then decided against hiring due to the schedule being too early for my needs. They apologized and only then stated an 8:30am start.Mar 7, 2019VerifiedTwo Men Labor's reply
Hi Cody, thank you for your response. I appreciate anyone who is willing to take the time to leave us a review, even if it is a bad review. To give perspective to other potential customers, it is March 7th, and the date you requested moving services was for March 25th. After asking about our schuedule, you decided not to hire us and then left this review. As I discussed with you, we were available in the morning and afternoon of March 25th. Our only commitment is that as a college student, I had a class on that date from 11:35-12:45. Most 1 bedroom apartments take between 1-2 hours to load into a truck, and so I told you we should start no later than 8:30 in the morning. You wanted to start no earlier than 10:00 a.m., and so then I offered starting at 1 p.m. in the afternoon. To customers who are reading this review, please also look at our other reviews. I'm proud to say that in two years of helping customers move, we have never had a bad review come from a customer who hired us for moving. If you have further questions about this review, or if you would like to get on our schedule, please feel free to give us a call or text message to our phone number at (951)-837-6178. Thank you for your time. Sincerely, Jacob Thornburg

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?- Minimums: For small jobs, it's important for customers to know about our minimums. For moving jobs, we have a $180 minimum, which includes up to two and a half hours. If you're only moving a few items and we expect it to take less than half an hour, we drop that minimum to $165. Discounts: If you hire us for moving, we include junk removal of furniture items, clothes, and other donation items for a much lower price. Rather than counting it as a "Junk removal" fee, we donate the items at a local charity as part of the move.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?- In order to avoid mistakes and miscommunications, we always go through the details with customers. For a small job of 1-2 items, this takes about thirty seconds. For a larger job, we ask for either a list of the items being moved, or pictures of the items. Sometimes we have to ask specific questions about the items such as which ones are fragile. With T.V.s we have to ask if the customer has a T.V. box, or if they want one from us. We also ask about stairs, elevators, hallways, and parking.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?- I've been doing this work for about two years now. I have had jobs where furniture broke, I've had jobs where things went well, and I've learned from both. From these experiences, I've learned the value of being fair and generous with customers, and I've learned that the best way to grow a business is to take care of others and to fulfill their needs.
