John and his Crew were absolutely great. They were knowledgeable regarding the products and different approaches we could take, and they always arrived when they said they would and were friendly. John was also up front with me on costs and updated me throughout the work process, which I appreciated.Oct 8, 2018

ON SPEC-ON TIME - ON BUDGETSep 30, 2018
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)? Our pricing is based solely upon the time and materials it will take to do the entire job properly without short cuts or inefficiency. We take pride in our ability to accurately assess the scope and cost of a project - any project- so that our proposal offers a budget that is both certain and realistic. We price for value, not for the purpose of simply winning momentary favor. We know that when a satisfied customer gazes upon the enviable condition of his house five years after it has been painted, they don't ponder what they paid for the paint job, but rather enjoy the contentedness that accompanies the smart decision they made going with a quality contractor.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?First order of business is to understand the objective of painting (which may have an impact on price). Next is to determine the quality mindset of the owner so that we're aligned in terms of expectations. We then jointly assess the entire structure to be aware of the challenges at hand and the discretionary decisions that require expert consultation. And, finally, we try to arrive at the true values of the owner so that we concentrate on the outcomes of the project most likely to satisfy. Painting one's house is an experience, and we strive to leave nothing to chance that might jeopardize the satisfaction that experience is expected to deliver.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?John Burke painted his way through college, painting over 50 homes in the Wellesley area and employing a good percentage of his Babson classmates. Since his contract staffing company was sold in 1996, John has continued contracting in several successful ventures while also operating Burke & Crew Paintwrights in the Cape Ann area. I've been managing projects by dispatching professional technicians and trades people my entire career.
