I hired JSR Electrical to upgrade the circuit breaker and wiring to my kitchen island to facilitate installing a newer cooktop which required more amps (40). My old one required only 30 amps. I submitted the request through Thumbtack at almost 5 p.m., and received the bid within minutes; they were able to come out the very next day. They had find the location of the wire in my garage wall and cut a hole to access the wire. They found the right wire by tracing it, and cut the hole in the right place. They repaired the wall when they were through. They were careful to leave the old wire in place until they had the new wire pulled, to ensure I could have a working cooktop (the old one) even if they couldn't get the new wire pulled; I appreciated this back-up plan. They were successful, though, in pulling the new wire -- which they chose to support 50 amps -- just in case even more amperage is needed in the future. I also appreciated that foresight. They called when they were on their way and arrived exactly at the scheduled time. They had two electricians working on my house for 2.25 hours for this work. Their price was $410, and that was the total charge for labor (4.5 manhours) and parts (about 30 feet of wire, 40 amp circuit breaker, and a couple lengths of 2x4 so they could securely repair the hole in my drywall). I had been told by an appliance installer who had been to my house earlier that there would be a 50% chance that pulling the wire would be unsuccessful and the floor would have to be chiseled out to lay the new wire -- so I was very pleased that JSR was able to pull the wire without having to destroy my floor.

We have standard pricing that we use when providing a written quote to the customer. This assures the customer that we are consistent in our pricing.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to meet with a customer to review their total scope of work so we can provide the most accurate one time quote that will not change.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am a Master electrician licensed with the State of Texas. Additionally I am registered as an electrical contractor (which is required by the State of Texas). We are fully insured , background checked and drug tested.
