Tried to charge me over $300 to hang a few pictures and a banister. This would take maybe 45 minutes. No thanks

Tim Gries-Carpenter, Handyman, General Contractor's reply
Emily, I do apologize for your misunderstanding of an estimate. Your 4 pictures, 2 shelves, and the 8ft handrail were based upon what each Individual job would take upon completion. If you want any pro to do their job properly, it takes time an planning for each individual item to be mounted per your request. Also, There is a specific standard required when it comes to installing handrails properly. If a pro doesn't want to have to go back an redo his work from before, he will take the necessary steps to ensure his work is built to last. Good Luck with your future endeavors! Thank You for your time.

Tim was very quick to respond and found a time to come out within the week that worked for both of us. He gave me an idea of the cost on the phone and despite finding some differences when he inspected on his arrival, stuck to his original amount. He was also very thorough and gave us a good idea of what was happening, what he was going to do etc so that we felt confident in what he got done! Would definitely recommend Tim to others and plan to use him again (since I'm always finding projects).
