Introduction: Students become better readers and writers from the one-on-one tutoring experience. It is amazing to see the students really gain skills and strategies in reading decoding, reading comprehension, language, vocabulary and writing skills. The parents see a difference right away once I start tutoring their child. I always share strategies and skills with the parents so that they can implement it at home with their child. Many parents tell me that the teachers at the child's school see tremendous growth and it gives the child an advantage to advance in their academic skills. I love seeing students improve in reading comprehension, vocabulary and writing! The parents are so pleased that their child is improving in literacy skills. It is so rewarding to see students begin to understand books and learn how to write! Some kinds of writing that I provide instruction in besides handwriting include informational and persuasive writing. I use different kinds of writing programs and workbooks that I can discuss with the parents as to what would be best for your child's learning style.

Paula literally taught both of my children to read at 4 years old. The knowledge they gained through Paula's work continues to carry them through school. Both kids have always read above grade level and it's no doubt because of the foundation they gained through Paula.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My tutoring fees range from 40 to 55 per hour depending on the distance.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First I like to meet with the customer and go over the needs of the student and talk about how I can meet the needs to help the student grow in their skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a M.Ed. degree in Language Learning Disabilities and General Special Education. My undergraduate degree is from the University of New Hampshire and my graduate degree is from Notre Dame College in Manchester, NH. My background includes training in many reading and writing programs from pre-k to 12th grade. I have also helped adult learners in their college courses in reading and writing skills. Many of my post graduate courses were from Endicott College in Beverly, MA and also courses from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute in Boston in Reading and Speech and Language Disorders.
