Introduction: I just finished my Bachelor's degree in Literature. My endgame is to be a book editor, whether that means helping the author brainstorm or just simply going through a manuscript to find errors, no matter what they are. I am happy for any experience to further my resume. I absolutely love reading. I am a picky reader--meaning, I find all the grammar or continuity mistakes within a book or manuscript while reading for pleasure. I have actually found a few errors in books by well-known published authors.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My standard pricing is $0.02 per word. It can be negotiated and/or price by hour if it is a longer project.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Discuss with the client what exactly they are wanting me to do. Proofread for grammar errors and the like or help brainstorm where they are stuck. From there, decide what will work best, in person or email and go from there.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am finishing up my Bachelors degree in May Literature at Linfield College. I am 29 so I do have some life experience outside of school. I have written a novel so I know the never ending process of constantly editing your work before deciding someone else needs to take a look. I have done editing with a translation business that I still help occasionally, as well as helping fellow students edit their essays.
