Introduction: Hi there!
My name is Halstein Røyseland, and I’m from Norway. That’s why I have the O with the / going through it. Fancy, I know. And, yes, I am a viking. I actually grew up on a small sheep farm in the south of Norway, where vikings lived over a thousand years ago.
So what is this Norwegian guy doing in the city of lights, this neon glory that is Las Vegas? The reason, of course, is a woman. I met the love of my life here, we fell head over heels and soon after we got married in the drive thru at A Little White Wedding Chapel.
Fast forward to now, and we are surrounded by three girls (7, 5 and 3), and a baby boy
But, as usual, I’ve gone and made a short story long. So, let’s continue!
Back in Norway I used to work as a journalist for Norway’s largest newspaper, VG. During my years there I was fortunate enough to interview a lot of stars, including some of my childhood heroes. I’m not going to lie, I was pretty stoked when I got to interview James Hetfield from Metallica. And then I got to do it again a second time. Awesome!
As you might have guessed, I’m a big fan of Metallica. That’s why I named Hit The Lights after the first song they released. And HTL also happens to be the initials of my daughters, Hazel, Tatum and Lennan, so it fits perfectly!
After I moved to USA I decided to pursue photography full time. It’s a great way to be creative, and it’s a fun job!
I love weddings! In fact, one of my favorite movies is “Wedding Crashers.” So, it became pretty obvious to me that I should pursue wedding photography. I just really appreciate getting to be a part of one of the best days in someone’s life. It’s an honor, and it’s so much fun!
As a photographer I think of myself as a storyteller, and I love documenting the wedding day, from getting ready, to the ceremony and the big party afterwards.
Please browse around and take a look at my work. And then get in touch and let’s make some awesome pictures together!.
