Introduction: I'm a recent VCU grad looking to get into law enforcement. I've been working in construction for my father since middle school so I'm very knowledgeable, dedicated, and professional. That being said no job is too big or two small because I can get as much help as needed or provide a high quality job myself. I enjoy working with my and and meeting new people. Everyday I get up and experience something new even if I'm doing the same things and it's amazing.

Preston from Oddly Handy applied for a dresser paint job. Once I saw his work I had him paint a few other items, a few rooms, and fix my fence. His prices were very reasonable and he was super patient with me; I can be a tad picky and indecisive. Preston talked me through the work that he was doing and the best materials to use. Everything he did turned out wonderfully. I would recommend Oddly Handy to anyone who wants a honest, reliable, friendly, and fair handyman. Picture: There was an existing fireplace and pallet patio, I wanted it to look better and be able to have some shade. Preston built this pergola in a timely manner and it came out exactly how I imagined! He also helped me hang the lights, since I'm a tad bit short to do it on my own. :)

Last year I called Preston to come haul trash away from my house downtown. it was hard to access because the alley was so narrow but Preston did an excellent job getting in and cleaning up for me very quickly. The only reason Im not giving the 5th star is because he was a little late getting there. Other than that excellent performance.

Preston, did a good job on responding online and building the garden bed I asked. As part of the project he was suppose to place the bed at correct location after digging the grass out. He did not bring tools with him for placement. As per him there was some confusion as he did not think he would have to do any digging. I had shared with him a video from Lowes explaining my ask from the project and it had placement in it. However, I gave him change to come back and not just do the placement but help me with the soil to fill the bed as well. For the placement & soil I asked him for revised quote and deduced $20 from previous job as he did not finish. The end result he did not show up again for the agree upon time and quote we talked about and asking to up the offer. He is new to this and still learning but very quick to respond to online projects. I'm still giving him two stars as he did good job on building the raised bed.

Thankyou for taking the time to leave a review. But I would like to address the negative parts stated. As we talked about before my departure the day I placed your raised bed we did have some misunderstanding about what the price included. It was 100 to buy material and come build it, 70 in material and 30 in gas and labor by the end of it. In the end we settled on $80 that day and for me return with dirt fill and complete the job based on a new price that I would send when I got home. I also explained to you that because still 3 days later you'd never accepted my new price, which was at cost for me and cheaper than what you would be able to do on your own, and tried several times to change the date that I would not be able to come for a few more days unless you confirmed the price and time. I believe that I was more than flexible considering you chose to text about possible dirt choices at 10:30pm but still never gave a confirmation. As I told you before I can not dissapoint my other customers with no guarantee that I would get paid for completion. Again I'd like to note that I did try to remedy our situation by offering to return Sunday if you would give a confirmation of agreement on price and time to which you never responded. All in all I hope the raised garden looks wonderful and that your children have a great time learning to work with their hands. I'm sorry this project did not go as either of us planned. I first try to calculate the material cost and then charge labor for how long it will take me to complete the project. With add-ons for transporting material, procuring tools, or additional laborers needed.

I like to learn what is important to a client. For example are the details more important or is it the price. Then I like to offer my experience because if I'm on a job it's not about getting the money and getting away it's about making sure the client is happy and has a good experience.
