- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
While it varies, I typically have an initial phone call that lasts 10-20 minutes and then communicate via email and text message. Additional phone calls may be needed before the date of the event. I collect a non-refundable deposit (typically one half of the total charge) when the customer is ready to commit and for me to hold their date. The 2nd half of the payment must be collected before I begin to play. For brides and grooms this means that you want to designate someone else to pay the remainder if you are paying the day of the event. Please note that for non-corporate customers, I require final payment to be made in cash or a certified bank check such as a Cashier's Check or Teller's Check. Business checks, personal checks, money orders, etc. will not be accepted. The deposit can be paid in any manner as long as there are a couple of weeks before the event. This includes personal checks and PayPal. You are welcome to pay all at once in this manner if you prefer not splitting the payment. For corporate customers (corporate fundraiser, office party, etc.) I will accept cash, bank check, or a business check for the final payment the night of the event. No personal checks will be accepted the night of the event. Thank you in advance for your understanding when it comes to my payment rules.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
As mentioned above, I grew up helping my father DJ for parties. Since 2000, I have worked as a semi-professional musician even before I began my own DJ business. I had training on sound support equipment as part of my music degree in college as well.
