FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
No. It depends on the project and the client's needs/budget. Illustration is not necessarily an hourly job, but sometimes that's the easiest way to process a lower budget (personal, not commercial) project. I try to be as fair as possible with my pricing!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The process is pretty simple and I've been doing this for quite some time. We start with basic questions, scope of your project (for freelance illustration), your budget, any concerns you might have. For lessons, I like to begin where my student's interests are and build from there.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I studied art in college, but was already doing some illustration work in my hometown. From there, I went on to really pursue a different career working with children in educational settings. I continued to do freelance work on the side. Over the years, I've branched out into the digital world of illustration and work about 60-90% digitally. I am now focused on illustration and art instruction as my career!
