This inspection was a high end property in Palm Springs. The inspection took almost 5 hours due to the size and layout of the properrty. The inspection included the pool and spa and we also provided aerial drone inspection video and photos which gave great details of the roof.
Jimmy was very thorough with the inspection... he took the time to inspect. Very impressed with his work. The report is complete...Will highly recommend Home Inspection TechniciansJul 8, 2017Verified

This was a mobile home inspection. Many home inspectors are not familiar with the differences of a standard home inspection and a mobile home inspection. Not only am I certified to do mobile home inspections but in the late 90's I worked for a mobile home dealership where I sold new and used mobile homes, observed mobile homes being placed in mobile home parks and on foundations on private land. I also toured a couple of mobile home manufacturing facilities in Indiana so I am also familiar with how they are built.
From my point of view he is thorough. But according to my realtor, James say he is insured but does not show proof. When asked if he is bonded, he say he is not and does not know if any home inspection out there is bonded. I'm a first time buyer, I have no comment on this.Aug 5, 2016VerifiedHome Inspection Technicians's reply
Most realtors don't appreciate my service because I am thorough. At the beginning of the inspection the question asked by the realtor was, "Are you licensed and bonded because I am leaving you here at the house?" My response was that "contractors were licensed and bonded not home inspectors, home inspectors have certifications not licensing and I didn't know of any home inspectors who were bonded but are insured."

- How did you get started doing this type of work?Worked for an Engineering Firm as an engineering technicians, public works inspector and construction managers assistant. In 2006 I started on my own as a home inspector.
- What types of customers have you worked with? All types, older and younger adult, many nationalities and ethnicity, first time home buyers, investors, property management companies, landlords, tenants.
- What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?Compare apples to apples.Too many home buyers hire on price alone and unfortunately not all home inspectors are the same. Inquire about their background and home long they have been in business, their certifications, what else do they do, are they a full time home inspector or is this something they do on the side?, What type and how big is their inspection report? Ask for ratings and reviews. Ask to see a sample report. Ask what kind of warranties or extra services a provided.
