FAQs
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, we first exchange Q&As with each customer to discuss their vision for the photoshoot- where they would like the shoot, as well as their preferred styles. Since most of our clients are tourists, we also find ourselves helping out as "tour guides"- giving our client's advice to our favorite places to shoot in Hawaii & how each spot can meet their visual standards. Afterwards, we would edit through Lightroom / Photoshop, and within 2 weeks, we would send our client's a private link to all of their best shots. All photos are available for free download, but prints could also be purchased directly through the website as well.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Both of us started with a foundation of videos before working with photography. Brock began in high school, where he was part of a video production company and studied video production as his major in college. Throughout his line of work, Brock has mainly focused on action sports, first shooting videography for professional wake boarders, before moving onto photography for surf competitions. Tina began videography at her first corporate job as online marketer, where she was assigned to create webinars & social media videos for her company. She has also studied Graphic Design in college, and heavily utilizes these skills through her editing process. Her manager has noted that she has an "eye for design" and always encouraged her to focus her work ethic and creativity here. While living in Hawaii, Tina has been on a mission to swim with dolphins, swimming every weekend for sunrise with her friends. As she began to accumulate underwater equipment, she realized that she had found her passion for underwater photography.
- How did you get started doing this type of work?
It was hard NOT to get involved in this line of work :) Most of our time spent together consisted of finding new places to take photographs & figuring out how to purchase a new lens. We have also been asked to be the photographers for many of our friends & families events, including a few weddings. The constant encouragement and support allowed us to take the plunge to ever so creatively combine our Instagram names, b_rocka & hiifish, and begin our careers as professional photographers.
