FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
My fees really are tailored to each client so the fee quoted may change. Each client is different, has a unique set of factual circumstances and their lives are impacted distinctly by their need for legal services. Most of my cases are billed hourly but I also structure cases on a flat fee basis. Personal injury cases are usually taken on a contingency basis. Expenses are billed separately from fees, are itemized, and are either paid prior to incurring the expense or are reimbursed by the client.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically I meet with a potential client and listen. I want to know what issue or situation has created the need for legal services and what outcome the potential client seeks for themselves, the other parties and/or the entities involved. The legal process is explained and a discussion is had of the requirements, needs, benefits and burdens that can be expected to arise based upon choices clients will be asked to make during the pendency of their case. Fees, costs, and expenses of the case are addressed and again, the needs of the potential client. Work begins after the customer and the firm agree on and sign a contract and power of attorney for the representation.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was awarded a BBA in Economics, cum laude, and a Juris Doctorate. I am a licensed attorney in the State of Texas and I fulfill continuing legal education continually to maintain my license and improve my legal skills.
