They did an amazing job. They kept everything clean and worked to perfection. They are more affordable than other companies. They painted 3 rooms plus 2 bathrooms in one day (no ceiling)

ose was very nice, Avila Painters did an amazing job painting our house- We have 12 ft ceilings and 4 stories. I could not be happier with the final product. Not a drop of paint anywhere. They were truly professional. Most importantly, I have two little kids and they worked quietly and around their naps. I would recommend them to everyone!

Jose walked the house briefly without measuring anything and quoted a very reasonable price. I was skeptical about working with him because Avila Painters is not registered with the BBB, the website is minimal, and there isn't a strong web presence with feedback other than some positive comments in the last few months. However, I thought they were a new company starting out and they might be offering low rates to get business up and running so I gave them a try. The quote provided was completely incorrect, the subcontractor he hired was frustrated with Jose because he wasn't paying them for all the work that was done, Jose wasn't present and engaged in the project at all despite us repeatedly reaching out to him with concerns, the house was left in disarray, a pile of trash was left in the driveway, and the job is not finished. Jose admits that he estimated the job very badly but instead of checking in, recognizing the problem and stopping the work to define a change order, he left the job to go on for 4 days (a job that was supposed to be completed in 2-3 days) and now wants to charge us more than our original commitment for a job that is incomplete, as well as another 60% more to complete the work. Jose is polite in his method of communication but he is inexperienced and unfortunately his lack of experience is resulted in a very unprofessional engagement. When things didn't turn out well he provided a litany of excuses but he seems to have very little value for the amount of time or energy that it cost us to work with him. I'm very disappointed in this experience.
Avila Painters's reply
We’re saddened that this was an unpleasant experience. This is the actual first time we’ve had an issue with a project/client. However, we’re confident this project left us a good learning experience. The main cause of our misunderstanding, started the day of the initial estimate when your daughter instructed that the project consisted in 250 linear feet. She mentioned her husband works in demolition and measured it 3 times. My mistake was acting in good faith and trusting the information provided without verifying it. The estimate was quoted and mathematically detailed based on the information you provided of 250 linear feet, when in fact, we ended up installing 450 linear ft (almost double the size). In order to try and remedy the situation, we gave you a 30% discount on the whole project. Still, you were unsatisfied, breached the confidential agreement made with the subcontractor, and unilaterally decided to just pay for the costs of labor. My subcontractor was fully paid for the job done. I was in constant communication with my team, the subcontractor and your daughter. The old trim left on the driveway, was left there under your instructions when the project was paused. At the end, due to the miscommunication from both parties, you received a high-quality trim installation job at 50% price of its value. We’re a family owned business, who have been painting/remodeling for a few years now and recently decided to open up our own company. The registration with the BBB is in process and we should receive it soon.

GREAT JOB and GREAT PRICE! I had several contractors that started jobs and never finished, cost me 3 times the original quotes and still wasn't done. Avila Painters quoted on the first day and finished 2 days later. Beautiful job - great team! I will hire them again!
