Introduction: I have been tutoring since 2001. I have worked with 100s of students, many from elementary through middle school, high school and even into college. My certifications include science, math, and Spanish I am happy to help with all those subjects. Many of my students feel that it's helpful that I can work with more than one subject during our tutoring session. I also think tutoring is much more than just doing homework. I do not believe in doing the homework for the children -- they need to understand the concepts. My tutoring style involves asking questions - I ask questions, slowly working backwards through the content until the students know something about the concept. Then I build them back to where the concept is now - this helps discover any holes of the students might have that are keeping them from understanding the concept . This technique is incredibly successful and works to build confidence. I enjoy seeing the students begin to enjoy movies. Many of them come to me hating math or science, or believing that they are not good at these subjects. Often the case is the information was not presented in the way that made sense to them. I like seeing students smile and realize that they can understand the concepts!
