Introduction: I am a private one-on-one music coach, new to Thumbtack, but with 11 years of professional training & experience. I give real-life practical tips, fun exercises, and training that have proven real results! I am an active professional singer/songwriter/guitarist/pianist who has opened for celebrities such as Lauryn Hill, as well as singing the national anthem for the Houston Rockets. Teaching ages 6-adult. Singing, Piano, Guitar, and Songwriting Lessons. It never feels like work to me. It is something that comes naturally to me and I enjoy fixing problems in real-time. It allows my students to grow quickly and see and hear noticeable differences in their chosen expression of music. For this reason, I am a coach rather than just a teacher. A teacher tells you what to do. As a coach, I show you and help you do it for yourself. I eat, live, and breath music whether it be performing it, writing it, or teaching it. What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I offer 2 packages: 8 sessions/month for $500 4 sessions/month for $250 11655 Briarforest Drive Houston, TX 77077.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I enjoy the first phone call. If you're interested in booking lessons give me a call (832) (594) (9779). Messaging back and forth is okay, but I find that I learn much more about a students' needs and personality via phone calls. The first lesson is an identifying lesson. The first lesson is to see where the student is in their music. And also to identify potential issues and start giving them solutions to those problems (bad habits). If a student has never had lessons before, I introduce them to their instrument of choice and we start the process. All lessons begin with warm ups (that are suited for their voice--if they are a voice student).
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Bachelors Degree in Music Performance from Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Berkeley Online School of Music courses in songwriting & guitar. Professional performance experience.
