- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Poseidon Aquarium Servicing, your aquarium is of the most importance to us. We have 3 different types of maintenance packages: 1) Silver Package 2) Gold Package 3) Platinum Package Each of our packages includes a first meeting, in which we will discuss the differences of the different packages and discuss the state of your tank and come up with a service plan for you. Our standard maintenance package includes the following: Inspection of water quality - Testing aquarium water: salinity, pH, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate content. - Reef Tanks Only: Test calcium, magnesium, phosphate and alkalinity Clean exterior and interior aquarium surfaces Rake and siphon debris from gravel bottom - Water Polishing (if needed) Change and clean chemical filtration media - Clean overflow filtration pads. - Empty Protein Skimmer collection cup. Clean covers and light fixtures of algae and salt deposits Ensure optimum aquarium environment and inhabitant health - Remove and clean decorative corals, rocks, plastic plants and ornaments (as needed). - Check color, smell and temperature of water - Visual check of fish for head-count, disease, swimming and breathing rates. Maintain water quality - Top off water - Water changing as appropriate (usually 20-25%) With R/O water mixed with Visual check equipment, air and water flow Advice on food, livestock, additives and simple maintenance procedures between scheduled visits.
