FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I am use to working paid by salary so I'm having a difficult time pricing a job. So far, the two things I've used to help me are - asking myself how much I would pay to have the job done - asking my father for advice as he has served many quotes in the past. And then I'll take his price and cut it between 25% - 45%
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After sending the initial information and quote, I like to come see in person or over pictures of the exact work so I can provide a more accurate quote. If we have a good fit, I like to schedule the job. The day before/ morning of, I prefer to have the customer meet me at the hardware store so we can help each other figure out the exact product that they would like to use for the project, or for them to already have picked out or bought the product. When the job is done and if the customer is satisfied, I would like to provide my phone number or business card in case they would like to use me in the future.
