Introduction: Timmy is a professional multi-instrumentalist, composer, teacher, and software engineer. He holds a master’s degree in performance from Ball State University. As a teacher, he has been involved with many school districts as a weekly sectional coach and private lesson teacher. As an orchestral musician, he has played for the Danville Symphony Orchestra, Muncie Symphony Orchestra, Kokomo Symphony Orchestra, and has served as concertmaster for the Hendricks Symphony Orchestra and Fishers Chamber Orchestra. He also performs a wide variety of music such as traditional Irish with the Indianapolis Ceili Band.
Lessons with Timmy take a holistic approach to learning an instrument, touching on history, theory, playing by ear, composition, and improvisation. His teaching method goes beyond just learning concepts, to applying them across music practices both traditional and contemporary. His teaching includes a foundational instrumental technique and ability applied to standard repertoire and original compositions, sometimes by the students themselves.
