Introduction: I have master's and bachelor's degrees in piano performance from Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and teach students from beginning to advanced levels with solid technique and musicianship. I have 33 years of experience. I love teaching and the positive rapport that I have with my students. Students enjoy their lessons, because I foster a stress-free, relaxed atmosphere. Mrs. Murphy is the reason my daughter is going to major in piano performance in college. She not only taught her technical skills beyond other instructors, but she also helped her grow into a performing musician. Her approach to teaching piano is the perfect balance. Mrs. Murphy challenges her students and always pushes them to play to their best ability. She places a strong emphasis on technique and accuracy, but she also helps students play with expression and style fitting to each piece. For students who are more serious about studying piano, Mrs. Murphy goes above and beyond to provide many opportunities for students to get performing and competing experience, giving them a springboard into a performing future. With her vast knowledge of piano and her endless dedication to her students, I would highly recommend Mrs. Murphy as a piano teacher.

Mrs. Murphy is currently working with all four of my children, ages 5- 10. She is very professional and extremely knowledgeable in music. Not only are my children learning excellent piano skills, but also they are working on voice, work ethic, reading and math skills. I really enjoy listening to my children practice, and I've learned a lot from their lessons as well.

Jackie is both thoroughly competent at piano and a caring teacher of kids. My son took lessons from her from age 7 to age 19---twelve great years which culminated in solid performances of Chopin, Rachmaninov, etc.

Half hour lessons are $25, 45 minute lessons are $37.50, and hour lessons are $50. Payment is made by the month at the first lesson of the month.
