Katie believes that life is not about focusing on the negatives of what you have been through but finding the positive in any and every situation. As an educator in an urban charter school, life coach, mentor and motivational speaker, her mission is to help people live fully and freely into the best chapter of their lives. Her experiences with Teach For America, HerSpace Inc., Big Brother Big Sister, KIPP Schools and Zarvos Leadership and Coaching have demonstrated her commitment to inspiring and touching the lives of others.
As the founder of KLJohnson Motivates, LLC I bring my passion, energy and authenticity to help audiences and groups see beyond their today into their tomorrow. This is no career for me. This is my calling!

Katie possesses great talent in working with others and helping them find their path. For 10 months, our AmeriCorps members with the Near Eastside Education AmeriCorps program have had professional development sessions every other week. We hired Katie to create a customized training and lead our members through it…they have been raving about Katie’s session and have said many times it’s the best PD session all year. Not all AmeriCorps members work together at the same site and they have told me after Katie’s session, they really feel like a team. I see a spark in each of them now that they are motivated to set and accomplish goals. Katie has an innate ability to connect with others, help them recognize their potential, and inspire them to take action. We eagerly refer Katie to other organizations and hope to work with her again soon.

We asked Katie to be a presenter for our girl's summer reading program for Raising Queens. Katie was awesome. She was high energy and kept the girls engaged which can be challenging given the age range of the girls (9-12). She had several fun exercises and allowed the girls to provide valuable feedback on their experience. The girls walked away feeling inspired and didn't want Katie to leave. She was professional, punctual and very courteous. We would use her again!!
