Introduction: Knotts Mural Studio is known for large scale mural projects for commercial and civic clients. Owner and lead artist John C. Knotts is a 1987 Graduate of Sam Houston State University with a BFA in Studio Art. We bring thirty years of design, production and project management experience and a hands on approach to each mural project. Smaller private residential murals are also considered.
We travel and work all over the United States for large indoor and outdoor mural projects. We can also design, paint and ship mural art on large canvas(s) to be installed by client on location with a professional installer of wall covering. Contact us for more information.
I am personally invested in each mural project
from the moment I connect with a client and we begin the design process to the unveiling of the finished art work. The act of researching the subject and visual reference material and then painting the mural or fine art is so satisfying that it keeps me motivated.

As President of the Ethician Foundation and Director and Curator of the art collections housed in The Museum of Texas Art, I can say, based on my professional opinion that John Knotts is the greatest living muralist in Texas and perhaps the entire United States.
His work on the interior of The Russell Pyramid (www.russellpyramid.com) is exquisite and required superior talent to paint the four seasons and four times of day that morph into one another inside a truncated triangle.
