FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I’ll work with you. Depending on who’s driving and how far, and what you’re able pay, prices are negotiable. However, generally students have the option of driving to me for the standard rate of $30 per lesson, or having me drive to them for an additional fee (usually $10, sometimes more depending on distance.) I generally book an hour for each lesson, and the first few lessons will be closer to 30-45 minutes, but as the student progresses lessons will be longer (45min-1hr) as we will have more to work through and play in each lesson. Depending on how much material you want to practice and get through during the average week, we’ll figure out a rate and time that works for you.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
The first thing I’d have you do, is create a list of 10 songs and/or artists that inspire you. Then, during our first lesson, among other things, I’d talk to you about your musical experience, your goals, and what you want to learn. There are some things that are good for everyone to learn, but especially when students are first starting out, I’ve found it’s very important to focus on the things that they are interested in and want to learn.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have about 13 years of experience playing guitar, and have taken hundreds of private lessons for several different instruments over the years. I have been teaching for 3-4 years now, and have worked with a wide variety of students.
