Introduction: I am interested in providing swim lessons to those who are interested in learning how to swim. I will teach all skill levels and age ranges. I am a 2005 Virginia Tech graduate with full athletic scholarship to swim. I have coached several swim teams and taught many lessons. I am CPR certified.

I requested the services of Mrs. Johnsen and unfortunately my schedule conflicted with hers. But, she was so nice as to push back her own schedule to accomodate mine at the drop of a hat. Im not the greatest swimmer in the world, so she let me know what strengths and weakness were within the first ten minutes and built training and a routine for me right then and there. At the end of the lesson I felt more in control and in-tune with the various strokes and what my body needed to be doing to achieve my goals. Im a little stubborn with instruction but her teaching skills proved to overcome that. I would HIGHLY recommend her to ANY level of skill from learning to swim to an off-season olympian. I will reschedule many classes with her in the future.

What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
Depends on what you are looking for. Beginners looking to be comfortable in the water: $10-20 each lesson Competitive swimmers looking to hone in on their stroke techniques: $30 each lesson The more lessons you take with me, the bigger the discount I will give.
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I ask them what they would like to gain out of the lesson, their goals, how many lessons they are interested in and then I assess their skill level in the pool. At the end of the lesson, I discuss with them what they liked, what they want to work on next time, etc.
