I hired David and Bob to replace two patios and a roof deck with trex. The project entailed demo, replacing joists, building benches, laying the trex, and took about 10 days. Try not to degrade and yell at people who are trying to hire you and confuse them with someone else and then apologize. I got a series of really terrible texts from David that baffled me. He said he gave me a bid and he had never given me one, said I had a lawsuit against me (I don't) said I hadn't repaired my porch in 5 years- Ive only owned the house 2. I called him and he ranted at me. Then a few hours later told me he confused me with someone else. I had been very ill and in the hospital and felt completely scared by this reaction. Unfortunately, in my attempt to calm your irrational behavior and temperament, by appologetically stating, "I must have confused you with someone else," just to end our conversation, it backfired on me. You are the person whose unfinished project I inspected some months ago and informed that I was not interested, as in my field of work I saw too many "red flags." I had in fact performed a background check, due to the need to see why contractors had left your project unfinished. Of which the report mentioned liens and lawsuits. I am very surprised that you have chosen to attempt to defame me on my professional sight, considering the line of work you are in. How would you like it if I went on one of your sites and ranted as you have done here. Not nice. Shame on you. Wishing you better days. David J. Allen

We’ve had problems with our upstairs bathroom leaking for several years. Dave diagnosed the problem as the floor sinking and reinforced the 100-year-old wood frame with iron. It worked like a charm for way less money than I expected!Apr 13, 2018VerifiedDavid A.'s reply

- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?No I do not, as every type of job is so different.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?I touch base to discuss and initially assess their situation, then we meet and make a game plan. Then if mutually agreeable, I get right to work. I have a saying, "When you hire me, you get me." I do have a few employees, but rarely are they on the job without me. I never sub out my work, nor do I overbook my schedule. I won't get rich, but it's just my way.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?I have only in recent years, finally taken the time to go to college, for stationary engineering, minoring in heating and air, as I always found it interesting.
