Introduction: I specialize in Business Transcription, transcribing audio files from recorded focus groups, business meetings, interviews, and presentations. Unlike a simple "typist", I have on-site personal work experience in the corporate environment, which helps me understand the context and importance of each project. I spent 5 years working in Marketing Research (designing and moderating focus groups) and 1 year in pharmaceutical Human Resources. I also have worked in academia for 10 years teaching community college ESL. Because of this ESL experience, I have become HIGHLY skilled at understanding non-native (or "accented") English speakers' recorded speech. I type quickly and accurately, representing in my final document only the words spoken. Upon hiring, I will work closely with the customer to customize the document in terms of formatting. I love the variety of situations and conversations I am asked to transcribe. I also like the personal challenge of sometimes "deciphering" what the speaker is saying when the speaker's first language is something other than English.
