FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
I typically charge $120 for the initial inspection and tuning and $90 for ongoing maintenance tunings. This can vary based on the condition of the piano.
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My first time working with a new piano, I complete a full inspection before tuning. I will follow up this appointment with a complete report and maintenance plan.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been a music educator and musicologist since completing my undergrad in 1996. I hold music degrees from Illinois Wesleyan University (BME), the University of Arizona (MM) and Northwestern University (DMA). I am largely self-taught in piano maintenance, but have completed courses from the American School of Piano Tuning and the Potter School.
