I've been taking piano lessons from Jim Saunders for about two years. The thing I like is that he goes at my pace and he makes it a lot of fun. He has a good combination of piano playing and music theory with cord and scale practice thrown in from time to time. I never feel rushed. He has great patience and is always encouraging. I definitely plan to continue.

I am a student of Jim Saunders for about ten years. He has helped me improving my skills, not just in reading music, but mostly in helping me establishing my own playing style by suggesting the tempo of the piece and teaching me to listen closely to what I am playing. The schedule of the classes is very flexible and the price is very reasonable.

I am currently a high school student and have been one of Jim's students for several years and throughout his teachings I have learned what it means to truly fall in love with an instrument. He's the one of the best piano instructors I have ever seen because he will take his time to teach someone no matter what their background is or how old they are. For anyone starting off on an instrument or picking up where they left off, a compassionate teacher is key and I'm so lucky to have found one this great.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know the new Student is first. Then, what are their hobbies, what kind of music do they like or want to learn. Previous traiing, if any.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My first teacher of piano was well trained to teach and play piano. She studied music at Juliard School of Music in New York. She was very understanding and maybe a little strict. I was a Music major for two years In college.
