FAQs
- What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?
*I think every prospective Thumbtack customer should know that we get charged a fee for every communication with a potential customer. 90% of these correspondences lead to nothing as many people are just on here to get free prices for projects that they are not serious about. That's fine, but please know that we get charged to give you that price for free. The most important variables that effect the price of a paint job are: 1- What color and finish are the walls/ceilings now and what color and finish would you like them to be? 2- Condition of the walls/ceilings/trim? 3- Is there furniture or will the area be empty? Once those questions are answered, then a more detailed in-person estimate can take place. Also, “touch-ups” never match, unless you’re touching up something that was very recently painted. If you want it done correctly, don’t ask for “touch-ups”. Plus, busy/good painters couldn’t be bothered and you’ll end up with the bottom of the barrel!
- What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Basically, I usually ask a few questions to get started and make an appointment to go and see the job in person to give a more accurate quote.
- What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I've been a painter for 32 years and have extensive experience in all areas of the trade.
