Ms. Alston is a highly motivated person and is very patient when working with others. Ms. Alston is very good at communicating and explaining an issue and how to resolve it. Her many years of experience allow her to quickly diagnose and resolve an issue. Ms. Alston is tenacious and her ability to think outside of the box allows her to quickly resolve issues that may stump most. Ms. Alston is very responsive and carries herself with a level of professionalism that makes her easy to work with.

Barbara Alston is knowledgeable, helpful and resourceful. She was able to figure out and fix the issue that I was having with my computer very quickly. On top of that she is very nice and it was a pleasure dealing with her. I definitely go back to her next time I have issues with my IT equipment.

Barbara Alston is very professional, resourceful and quite knowledgeable. She was able to resolve my issues and restore my systems without any problems. Gave me detail information on how to resolve and maintain systems, if this problem were to become a reoccurring issue. My PC became unusable so I brought it to Barbara. I explained to her the problems I was facing. She told me what she was going to do and educated me why she had to undertake these solutions. She gave me a date when my computer will be fixed and I got my computer at the exact date. All my files are intact and my PC is back its best working mode. I could not be happier.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically, with a new customer on the initial call, I would get clarity on what exactly problem is. Once I understand the problem, discuss a plan of action to remediate the problem. If on-site troubleshooting is required to before the problem can be determined, then a time is scheduled for a visit.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Barbara Alston is a dedicated, energetic, and highly motivated individual who places great value in commitment to excellence, innovation, and customer service. To Senior CompuCare-Maryland By The Bay, Barbara brings an entire lifetime of experience in Information Systems. She holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Information Systems – Networking from Strayer University.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I got interested in Information Technology (IT) in High School. At that time, mainframe computers were used for computing power and the input media was punched cards or tape. From there, my career in IT evolved with the industry. As a result, I’ve held a number of positions from Computer Operator to Server Administrator. Since the industry has been good to me, I want to use some of that experience to empower anyone who wants to embrace to power of Information Technology.
