Carol was very caring and was also great with my Umbrella Cockatoo. She spent days getting to know her before the date she was to babysit her. She asked a lot of questions that would be pertinent during her time babysitting. I highly recommend Carol.

Carol is the best! I knew I never had to worry about a thing with her taking care of my four legged family!

FAQs

  • What should the customer know about your pricing (e.g., discounts, fees)?

I offer various pricing for different types of jobs. For example, visits of an hour or less in length are generally $15 per visit, while overnight stays start at $50 (for lengths of stays between 5 pm and 8 am). I also offer 24/7 options, dog walking visits, and can tailor the care to meet your specific needs.

  • What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

I offer a FREE estimate visit, where I go to the potential client's house to meet them and their animals. The potential client can decide from that visit whether they want to hire me or not. If they do decide to hire me, I then set up another meeting time to come over and fill out some contract paperwork that legally protects the client and protects me as the caregiver.

  • What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have a lifetime of experience caring for animals of all types, especially cats and dogs. I was a teenage pet sitter for neighborhood animals, and continued to offer these services for friends and neighbors wherever I lived through the years. I worked with rescue and shelter organizations through the last four decades in Michigan, Oklahoma and Georgia, helping find abandoned animals foster and forever homes. I worked at an animal boarding and doggy daycare facility (which was also a rescue), caring for and interacting with dozens of dogs (and cats) every day. I cared for multiple rescue animals in my home before finding forever homes for them, and have also cared for many special needs animals of my own and others. I am an herbal practitioner, and have offered natural health consultations for humans and animals for over twenty years, even making natural herbal and aromatherapy products as my own business for about 10 years. I am also a professional writer, and have written countless articles about natural health for animals, some that were published by online organizations and hard-copy magazines, such as Critter magazine. I have taught classes about natural health at various venues, including the University of Georgia. I have also been a family caregiver for my husband for a period of two years when he was incapacitated from a fall, and for my mother with dementia for about three years. My other job is as a professional writer for a medical/rehab/therapy supplies company, and I have much experience writing about various medical issues, disability conditions, special needs children and adults, and rehab/therapy approaches. Much of my experience has been hands-on, practical and self-taught. Because I have had such extensive real-life involvement, participation and practice working with and caring for animals, I offer a wider variety of knowledge, understanding and know-how to care for your animals.
