About this pro

How does your business stand out?

A graduate of the renowned Columbia University School, and a known advice columnist, I don't do "psychobabble." I work with each client creatively to help them get where THEY wish to go without judgment. I believe in offering strategies my clients can use right away to address issues and move past them to solutions. I have worked with people all over the world, including the creatives:) and those who demand a high degree of confidentiality. By all means Google me. As a writer, I've been both an Emmy and Writers Guild award nominee. My primary work is non-fiction, however I have also written fiction and worked as both a script and book "doctor." My clients tend to have high-end needs, e.g. book projects, scripts, or those who need to learn how to write quickly and effectively. I work extensively with actors, producers, editors, directors, as well as those not in media with complex projects. I also have material ready for TV, screen, and books for those who are seeking an investment op or project.

What do you enjoy about the work you do?

It's not a "job" or even a "career" for me. It's in part who I am. And I've been doing it virtually since "birth:). What I do is both "skill" and "art" as most pros, in my view don't know as much as they think know and play it by "the book." Seeing each of my clients as separate human beings with different needs and issues to be addressed is critical to me and deeply rewarding. Writing, as in working with people to solve problems is in part who I am as much as what I do. From the prep to research to creation to edit ... each part fascinates. I do work across media and themes: From TV to advice columns to articles, non-fiction relationship, humor, Jewish humor, celebrity interviews, quizzes online and in hard copy.

Marnie is incredible. She is open, honest and accepting and will tell you what she thinks. She also has a knack for knowing you better than you know yourself sometimes. If my marriage does survive it will be because of her

Marnie is great! The minute my husband and I met her we knew she was the perfect fit for us. She makes you feel very comfortable with wanting to open up and share what is going on in your relationship. Marnie is a great listener and provides sound advice that actually works if both you and your spouse are willing to put in the work. We are very much looking forward to our next visit with Marnie so she can continue to guide us down the right path helping us make our marriage better and stronger.

Marnie is simply awesome. It was great seeing her put my husband at ease to where he was able to talk. This was our first session and we are looking forward to our next. She greeted us with hugs, and we left both saying how cute she was. Definitely someone you enjoy talking with and someone who helps us learn about ourselves. Thank you Marnie, xoxo

After about 20 minutes of getting to know Marnie I already knew she was an genuine person and someone I could trust. I didn't feel pressured at all and made the experience very comfortable. She is a great listener and identifies problem rather quickly. Would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for marriage counseling and seeking an unbiased opinion.

Marnie is amazing! Both my wife and I love her. Her quirkyness and kindness made us feel very comfortable. She made us feel like she cared about us and wanted to make sure our issues were solved. She's blunt and to the point. So far we have had one session as a couple and it helped us and taught us so much. We're having individual sessions as well and we truly belive she can continue to help us and resolve our issues. We highly recommend Marnie.

We are enjoying our experience with Marnie. My wife was skeptical at first but is a now firm believer. There wasn't any psychobabble as she stated. She cut right to the meat of the problem. She has expedited revealing issues that we (my wife and I) were stuck in from our past that we didn't even realize we reacted to and is giving us tools to adapt and move forward towards our vows renewal coming up soon on our anniversary June 15th instead of pursuing separation! Thx Marnie 😁

Sometimes nonconventional is what you need
Marie was quick to respond to my emails to assist my brother and his wife with their marital issues. They just started this week but both my brother and sister in law seemed happy after their first session. They told me she is definitely not conventional, but she made them both feel at ease and look forward to opening up in future sessions. I'm grateful that they know have a professional to confide in. I look forward to seeing their progress.

Marnie definitely cut clean through the nonsense and got to the root of the problems... without relying on regurgitated Ivy League psychobabble. If you're ready for the truth, and ready to deal with someone who really can call out all the issues so they can be confronted... Marnie is the one you need.

    Refreshing honest sessions
I've had about 4 sessions now with Marnie and have had an amazing outcome from each. Marnie's approach is blunt and to the point. I'm slowly learning more about myself with every session and come out feeling more at peace each time I go see her. I am currently doing single sessions and couples sessions with my husband. Happy I found her and look forward to more sessions with her.

    Greatest therapist ever!!!
Who would've ever thought I'd have to leave Manhattan & travel all the way to Vegas to find this brilliant, fellow NYer- by far the best therapist I've ever had! I initially reached out to Marnie regarding couples counseling but eventually saw her for both couples counseling and for individual therapy. Finding Marnie in this uneducated wasteland of incompetence was a breath of fresh air. If you are lucky enough to schedule an appointment with her, you will see that she is like no other therapist you've ever met. Time is never an issue yet she works quickly and cuts out all the bullshit, getting right to the important matters at hand. I've finally tackled issues that I put on the back burner for 20 years. She's restored confidence in myself that I had sucked out of me years ago in my teenage years. She's made me see myself and my relationship in a totally new light. Giving hope that it's never too late to work on yourself or a relationship going thru a rocky period. I feel like she's my Robin Williams in "Good Will Hunting" and it's only my 3rd session with her. And yes she's that good if her MSW from Columbia didn't already impress you enough. Reach out to her and don't look back. You could travel to every city in the country seeking the best psychiatrists, social workers etc and still not find a gem like Marnie. I've only been in Vegas 2 years and she's the one person I'll remember forever. Thank you Marnie.

    Just what the doctor ordered!
My meeting with Marnie was fantastic! First of all, she's charming, friendly, and super-intelligent. Second, she's an amazing writer, an incredible therapist, and has an enormous amount of life and work experience which would be very difficult for anyone else to match. I was surprised to see the high-quality work and thought she put into my project. What she gave me was exactly what I needed. I couldn't have gotten the insights and breakthroughs without her help. I recommend her highly not only for her skills but because meeting her was a privilege and a treat! If Marnie is not available for your project for some reason, I recommend waiting until her schedule opens rather than settling for someone else.

    Best Therapist in the State!
Marnie is one of the most amazing people I have ever met. She is an amazing therapist. She cares. She works incredibly hard for her patients and truly works from her heart. She doesn't care if a session is 3 hours long or if takes 5 minutes. She will work with you for as long as you need. It is not about her, it's about you. She listens, she pushes you, she holds your hand. She will never put you down, she will never discourage you, and she will always tell it like it is, which is hard sometimes, but what's the point of therapy, if you don't face the truth? She is there for you. No matter what. What else can you ask? She doesn't use traditional 1-2-3 steps to therapy. She molds the therapy according to each individual person. Everyone is different.

Marnie is certainly not cookie cutter with her approach, and that is very much a good thing. The counseling she has provided to both my wife and me has been spot-on and candid. There is not bullshit during her sessions. Be prepared to hear the truth.

The moment I walked in, Marnie treated me like I was a family member and very warm welcoming with a big smile and hugs! We quickly discussed about what needs to be worked on my tough marriage, I am overly surprised how fast she identified my issue leading to the main root. I'm not sure how she does it, but she was more than amazing! Love the fact how she breaks it down for you piece by piece. Marnie doesn't only treat you just another client, she treats you like you're a family that she truly cares and loves you as you are! She's like an Angel, whenever you need Marnie....she's there for you NO MATTER WHAT!...and no matter what difficulties, rough circumstances, and hardships you're going through and even you feel hopeless...she will find a positive way to restore your life back together with peace and happiness!! I will have another session!! THANK YOU SO MUCH, MARNIE...YOU TRULY DESERVE 100 STARS :)

Marnie has been phenomenal from the moment we first met her. As soon as we sat down, she immediately pinned me as having something that was really bothering me, which I definitely did. After meeting with her for the past few weeks, she has helped my wife and I to uncover a lot of deeper issues that we really never noticed or knew, especially in regards to me. We will definitely continue seeing her and would highly recommend her to anybody. She's a little (very) quirky which we absolute love because it makes us feel at ease, especially my wife.

Marnie was a joy to work with! She is very caring & compassionate putting her whole heart into her sessions. She relates to you in such a way that you feel like you're talking with a friend rather than a therapist. She's witty and funny and gets to the heart of the matter quickly and wastes no time working on a desired outcome/resolution. Sometimes the answers are so simple or right in front of us but we can't see them. Marnie helps you see…

Marnie is incredible. She locks into what the problems are, and helps you focus on what's wrong. She doesn't waste time in silliness or old school tricks. She goes straight to the point of the pain or of the problem and help you. She pushes you. She challenges you. She cares like few people do and really works with you.

We have been seeing Marnie for the past almost 3 months and I can’t stress enough how much she has helped us already. She shortens the distance between her and her clients within the first 5 minutes and makes you feel like an old friend. She is very passionate about helping us and is intensely involved in the dialogue. She would cry or laugh, or jump, or scream with us, without sparing emotional involvement. She is definitely quirky but I guess that’s what I personally prefer. I don’t care for boring people. I love her unconventional approach and adore her sense of humor. Her intelligence, wittiness and quick mind bring intrigue and spice to our communications. I’ve come to eagerly expect our meetings with Marnie and my husband feels the same way.

Marnie is quick to turn in columns ahead of deadlines. If anything slips through the cracks, she's also quick to fix it. My assistant editor always says "brilliant" after she finished proofing her advice column each month, which makes me think that's what lots of readers are saying quietly to themselves as they read along as well. I think Marnie has added a much-needed level of levity to our publication.

Marnie is kind, hard working and will do anything to help you. She has helped me gain my confidence and my personal power back. Most of all Marnie has helped me be more assertive which was my biggest issue. Ever since I have been talking with Marnie my panic attacks and anxiety decreased by 80%. Marnie is truly outstanding. I love how real she is and I love that she will help you get to the root of the problem instead of going around it. I highly recommend Marnie as a counselor.
